About The Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve the safety, health and environmental agenda across a complex food manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring an individual who can build credibility quickly, influence operational teams at all levels, and foster a proactive safety culture within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing HSE within a food production setting, ensuring legal compliance, driving behavioural safety programmes, leading audits and investigations, and delivering measurable improvements in safety performance. Experience working within large, complex manufacturing sites, ideally with high levels of automation and significant operational risk, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proven H&S leadership experience within food manufacturing.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent higher-level H&S qualification).
  • Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation, risk management, accident investigation and compliance.
  • Experience leading internal and external audits and managing regulatory relationships.
  • Demonstrated success driving behavioural safety and cultural change programmes.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operational teams across a large, complex site.
  • Experience managing environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
  • Food manufacturing experience is essential; bakery, FMCG or high-volume production environments would be highly advantageous.
