I am currently a Section Leader and have been with the company for 3 years. I enjoy being part of the team here at Soreen and work closely with the other teams and departments. I am proud to carry out my role with very high standards and like having the opportunity to work with others but also step up and do tasks alone when needed. I moved to Soreen after being self-employed and the great benefits such as the holidays, pension and money saving benefits are a massive bonus! I’ve gained new friendships along the way which has been a big plus. It’s a great company to work for! Andrew
I joined the business because of the Soreen Family Values. I worked at a food manufacturing company prior to Soreen, so was happy to continue in that realm of work. I have been here for nearly 5 years and thoroughly enjoy my role. We have some fantastic colleagues, and I could not see myself working anywhere else. I enjoy the daily challenges within my role and being customer facing, speaking to the different businesses and their staff members. I enjoy running production for the whole site and working alongside our bakery management and despatch teams to ensure everything runs smoothly. Soreen consists of great people, and this is such a key benefit of working here. It is like a family, and everyone helps and looks out for each other. There are some great monetary schemes and benefits, and lots of events throughout the year for all colleagues. Ghalib
I was made redundant over 5 years ago and was looking for a friendly family workplace atmosphere. I knew and felt I was going to work at Soreen as soon as I came to site. The atmosphere was extremely reassuring and welcoming and I haven’t looked back since! I enjoy always being busy doing different tasks. It is never quiet on reception, and we are constantly meeting different visitors, and contractors – time flies by! It’s great to interact with different departments and colleagues as we are always happy to help anyone. Soreen is a great company, and we get to work with really great people. It’s such a nice feeling to come into work. The benefits are excellent (such as their pension scheme) for colleagues - it feels very rewarding. Soreen are also good with giving back to colleagues and it feels as though everyone is really appreciated, especially with social events and different celebrations that are organised throughout the year. I joined Soreen because I was trying something new in my life and felt my skills would be a good match. I have worked here for 14 years in my hygiene operative role and I love it. Every day offers something different. You learn something new: - a new skill, new information new challenges. I enjoy meeting new people and having great friendships with colleagues. Having a laugh every day when I come to work and enjoying break times with my colleagues…I love the people and the environment I work in! Justyna
I have been at Soreen for 14 years having worked my way up since leaving University. I love it as much as the first day I joined! My dad was also a shift manager here, so it was nice to see him whilst working. I really enjoy interacting with different departments and colleagues, no day is the same here at Soreen and we learn something new every day. I love being able to challenge and work within a great team. Working at Soreen feels like a family, everyone is close and supports one another, it’s something we value very much. The social aspects that are arranged outside of work are a major benefit for colleagues - it’s great for team bonding. Thanks, Soreen for a great 14 years! Jordan
I previously worked with the Operations Director at another company and he was one of the main reasons I joined. I really like working in the food industry and I was very happy to come to work at Soreen. I really liked the mechanics of the business (the process of how the malt loaf here is made etc). I was bread knowledge based so thought I could give some of my skills to Soreen. Plus I have always loved malt loaf and enjoyed eating it since I was a child. Within my current role, I like the fact I can be creative and follow that through by doing tests and seeing the differences made by the changes that I have implemented. Working with like-minded and interesting people, and working closely with colleagues in different departments, gaining experiences/passing on my experiences with other members of staff, also play a main part in why I like working here. I feel very valued in the business and in my role, so I enjoy it very much. Soreen really care about your mental wellbeing and social time. As a team we all get on well and look out for each other. All colleagues are working towards one common goal: creating the best Soreen possible. Nathan
Soreen is local to me and had a good reputation, I knew when I came for the interview that I would get on well with my Operations colleagues and establish a great working relationship and there was potential for progression too! I joined Soreen because I had worked for 25 years in biscuits and it’s a very similar process and role. We have a really good team; everyone is friendly and works hard for a common goal. I enjoy the challenge, and the fact every day is different. There is also a good work/life balance - great support for colleagues from the company and the potential for development. You are treated as a real person not just an employee. Andy
I used to buy Soreen Malt Loaf every Saturday and loved the product! I was fortunate to know someone working here who informed me there was a job opening 17 years ago. I had my interview, got offered a role and haven’t looked back since! I am also a Mental Health First Aider which is a very important role to me and the business. Being trained to help anyone who may be experiencing mental health issues or emotional distress and offering support is something I am passionate about. I have met some fantastic people; we have great teamwork amongst us all. The social side allows us to catch up and spend time together outside of the working environment. I see some of my colleagues more than my own family members. I have met friends for life here! Jo
I was brought up eating Soreen. Working for a brand that meant something to me, was close to my heart, and meant a lot to me throughout my childhood was very important - so Soreen was perfect. Now, after having worked here for 17 years (50% of my life!) it’s even closer to my heart, now more than ever. I work in marketing, as our Digital Content Manager. I started at Soreen working in Hygiene at the age 17 and developed through the ranks after completing my degree. Having fond memories of working in the bakery and understanding how the product is made, and how the bakery works, enables me to fully understand my branded content today – and I knit that understanding of what goes on in the bakery into everything I do. I thoroughly enjoy working alongside all my colleagues and continuing to mix with all departments throughout the business. Soreen for me is more than work, it is like being with your family. Some people I have known since late childhood and now with 2 children of my own, they’ve known me man and boy, and seen me develop through my career and life. I love the social aspect to work and the events that are organised and thrown for colleagues and their families. A brilliant perk here is having a gym on site…it is a great way to enable myself and other colleagues to keep active and happy. Stefan
